Community Outreach survey
Overview
Surrey County Council is in the process of reviewing outreach services for people with mental health needs so that we can make sure we’re getting the right type of support for people in Surrey. We’d like to hear your experiences of outreach, what exactly you need assistance with and what improvements could be made.
What is community outreach?
Outreach is provided to individuals in their own home and in the community to support their wellbeing and develop or maintain independence. This may include for example:
- Assistance with finances
- Support to maintain a tenancy
- Support with life skills (such as cooking, cleaning, completing paperwork or managing a home)
- Emotional support and confidence building
- Help to develop friendships and social connections
- Support to attend activities and appointments.
We are not currently including support with personal hygiene and toileting in our definition of community outreach for people with mental health needs. This would typically be done by a ‘Care at Home’ service.
A screen reader accessible version and a large print version are available at the bottom of this page. If you complete one of these, please email your completed response
What happens next
All feedback is anonymous and will be collated to identify themes and trends. This information will then be used to help shape a service specification which defines what Surrey County Council expects commuity outreach providers to deliver and how it expects them to work with people with mental health needs to achieve their individual outcomes.
