Ashley CofE Primary School

Overview

Surrey County Council and Ashley Primary School (an academy in the Good Shepherd Trust multi academy trust), together with the Diocese of Guildford, have been working together to look at the need for primary school places in the Walton on Thames area and how the school can best meet these changing needs in the future.

Our proposal is that Ashley Primary School changes from a two form of entry primary school to a three form of entry primary school. The school currently has capacity for 420 children; in its new form it would increase its overall capacity to 630 children.

We are proposing that these changes start to take place from September 2017 when a third Reception class would join the school.  From 2017 the school would increase its Reception published admissions number (PAN) from 60 to 90.  The school would continue to grow incrementally, becoming a full three form entry primary school in 2023, when the 2017 Reception cohort reaches Year 6.

Additional accommodation would be provided to enable the school to operate as a three form of entry primary school on its present site.
