The Warwick School expansion

Overview

Surrey County Council and The Warwick School have been working together to look at the need for secondary school places in the Reigate and Redhill area and how the school can best meet these changing needs in the future.

Our proposal is that The Warwick School changes from a six form of entry secondary school to a seven form of entry secondary school in September 2017. The school currently has capacity for 900 children in Years 7 to 11; as a seven form of entry secondary school it would increase its overall capacity to 1,050 children in Years 7 to 11.

We are proposing that these changes start to take place from September 2017 when a seventh Year 7 class would join the school.  From 2017 the school would increase its Year 7 published admissions number (PAN) from 180 to 210.  The school would continue to grow incrementally, becoming a full seven form of entry secondary school in 2021, when the 2017 Year 7 cohort reaches Year 11.

Additional accommodation would be provided to enable the school to operate as a seven form of entry secondary school on its present site.
