Alternative Learning Provision Consultation - Children & Young People

Overview

Surrey County Council is redesigning its strategy for alternative learning provision.

Alternative learning provision is education outside school, arranged by local authorities or schools, for pupils who do not attend mainstream school for reasons such as exclusion, behaviour concerns, mental health, short or long term illness. Examples of alternative provision include Pupil Referral Units, the Alternative Learning Programme (ALP), Short Stay Schools, Access to Education (A2E) and Surrey Online School.  

This survey aims to capture the views of children and young people on alternative provision. The User Voice and Participation Team are keen to hear both from children and young people who have direct experience of alternative provision and those who have not but may have struggled at times with their mainstream education.
