Clandon CofE (Aided) Infant School

Closed 6 Nov 2015

Opened 5 Oct 2015

Overview

Surrey County Council and Clandon CofE (Aided) Infant School, together with the Diocese of Guildford, have been working together to look at the need for primary school places in the Clandon area and how the school can best meet these changing needs in the future.

Our proposal is that Clandon CofE (Aided) Infant School changes from an infants' school to an all through primary school. The school currently has capacity for 75 children; in its new form it would increase its overall capacity to 105 children.

We are proposing that these changes start to take place from September 2016 when the 2013 Reception cohort would move from Year 2 into Year 3.  From 2017 the school would reduce its Reception published admissions number (PAN) from 25 to 15.  The school would continue to grow incrementally, becoming a full primary school in 2019, when the 2013 Reception cohort reaches Year 6.

Some additional accommodation would be provided to enable the school to operate as a primary school on its present site.
