Furzefield Primary School revocation statutory notice
Overview
Surrey County Council and Furzefield Primary School have been working together to look at the need for primary school places in the Merstham area and how the school can best meet these changing needs in the future.
However it is now not possible to go ahead with this proposal. The council and the school have been unable to achieve joint approval for the building works that would have been necessary, and we have had to review the decision.
There is still a need for more school places in the area, and we are looking at other options to provide a long term solution to meet demand.
We are therefore now publishing a statutory notice to revoke the previous decision made to expand Furzefield Primary School, as the school will now remain as a two form of entry primary school.
Why your views matter
We are now publishing statutory notices to revoke the decision that was previously made for Furzefield Primary School to expand from a two form of entry primary school to a three form of entry primary school. It is now proposed that the school remains as a two form of entry primary school.
