Overview

High Street and Chertsey Road, Chobham – Junction Improvement Consultation

Background

Surrey County Council has developed possible improvements to the junction of High Street with Chertsey Road and we would like your comments. This work has been undertaken in response to concerns raised by residents about high traffic movements and road safety at the junction including facilities for pedestrians to cross the road.

A feasibility study was carried out to investigate the situation and to identify measures that could be introduced to help to improve the junction layout. The study examined a number of options and identified the below options for your consideration.

Options proposed

  • OPTION A – NEW RIGHT TURN FILTER LANE  INTO CHERTSEY ROAD WITH CARRIAGEWAY WIDENING

  • OPTION B – WIDENING THE SOUTH-EAST FOOTPATH AND CHANGING THE STOP LINE

  • OPTION C – DO NOTHING

Further information on these options and why they were deemed inappropriate are available on the website

Have your say

Your views are important to us and will help decide which measures are introduced.  We would therefore be grateful if you would let us know what you think by completing this survey.

In addition to the electronic documents, Surrey County Council will be hosting two exhibitions at the Chobham Parish Pavillion on Station Road. The exhibitions will be held on Monday 25 September (1pm to 5:30pm) and on Wednesday 27 September (6pm to 8:30pm). Surrey County Council Officers will be in attendance on both days to answer any questions you have on the consultation.

We would encourage you to come along to a public exhibition before completing the questionnaire.  However, if you are unable to attend the exhibition then it is important that you still complete the questionnaire so your views can be considered.

The closing date for responses is 29 October 2017. We would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to complete our questionnaire.
