Overview

Thank you for your interest in our Raised Table and Zebra Crossing proposals in Deepcut bridge Road.

The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.

The proposal:

The Environmental Improvement works in Deepcut is a highway improvement scheme on Deepcut Bridge Road. The purpose of the scheme is to improve conditions for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists and to provide an overall better quality built environment.

In relation to this Order, a zebra crossing and raised table will be implemented at the location fronting Nos. 69 – 81 Deepcut Bridge Road. The implementation of the zebra crossing will provide a safe crossing point for pedestrians and cyclists. The zebra crossing should also result in vehicles travelling at lower speeds on this stretch of road. The introduction of the zebra crossing has been assessed and agreed with Surrey Police and Surrey County Councils Road Safety Audit team.

The implementation of the raised table will allow level access for pedestrians and cyclists. The raised table should also result in vehicles travelling at lower speeds on this stretch of road. The introduction of the raised tables has been assessed and agreed with Surrey Police and Surrey County Councils Road Safety Audit team.
