Frenches Road Redhill - Raised Zebra Crossing
Overview
Thank you for your interest in our Raised Zebra Crossing proposals in Frenches Hill, Redhill.
The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.
The proposal:
It is proposed to provide a zebra crossing in Frenches Road, Redhill, between the junctions of Kingfisher Drive and Wiggie Lane. The zebra crossing will be on a raised road table with anti-skid surfacing on the approaches to the crossing. Part of the grass verge at the junction of Frenches Road and Kingfisher Drive will be surfaced as part of the scheme in order to provide more room for people to wait to cross.
The scheme has been progressed in response to a petition requesting a crossing in Frenches Road that was presented to Reigate & Banstead Local Committee. Reigate & Banstead Local Committee agreed at their meeting on 1 March 2021 that the design and construction of pedestrian crossing improvements on Frenches Road in the vicinity of Wiggie Lane form part of a programme of highway works in Reigate & Banstead for 2021/22.
