Hatchlands, Redhill - Puffin Proposal

Closed 9 Jul 2021

Opened 17 Jun 2021

Overview

Thank you for your interest in our Puffin Proposal proposals in Hatchlands, Redhill.

The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.

The proposal:

Hatchlands Primary School has secured planning permission for the demolition of the former Redhill County and Magistrates Court and the erection of a 2-form-entry primary school building, associated landscaping, car parking and servicing areas to accommodate an increase to 420 pupil numbers.

The signalised pedestrian crossing is to be provided outside the school access on Hatchlands Road (A25), 35 metres south of its Brownlow Road junction. The implementation of the signalised pedestrian crossing is to facilitate a safe crossing provision for people accessing the new enlarged school. The introduction of the signalised pedestrian crossing on Hatchlands Road (A25) has been assessed and agreed with Surrey Police and reflects Surrey County Councils Road Safety Audit team and Passenger Transport Services considerations.
