Opened 15 Dec 2022

Overview

Thank you for your interest in our prohibition of entry proposals in Madeira Road, West Byfleet.

The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.

The proposal:

Land to the north of Old Woking Road and east of Station Approach West Byfleet Woking Surrey KT14 6NG Sheer House.

Redevelopment of the site to provide extra care retirement units (class C2) and communal amenity floorspace, flexible retail, food and drink (class E), drinking establishment (Sui Generis) and hot food takeaway (Sui Generis), community floorspace (class F.1/class F.2) and car parking spaces, together with the provision of basement space, cycle parking, highway works, public realm improvements and other associated works.

The no entry / road narrowing on Madeira Road needs a traffic regulation order for the no entry. The developer added this after discussions with the road safety team.

Loading bays on Station Approach and Lavender Park Road.

Alterations to existing on street parking.

Parking restrictions on Madeira Road.

There will be associated section 278. Highways works on this site. The applicant will not be using the vehicle crossover process for the vehicle crossover or drop kerbs.
