Surrey Reading Aloud 2018 - competition nomination
Overview
Surrey Libraries and Brooklands Radio are celebrating the joy of reading aloud by inviting Surrey residents to nominate people who bring stories alive when reading aloud.
Do you know someone who is brilliant at reading stories aloud to children or to adults? It might be a family member, your babysitter, a nursery nurse, school teacher or volunteer, or anyone else you love listening to reading aloud. They might read to children or adults, individually or in a group setting.
We'd like to hear about them and what makes them so good at reading aloud.
Nominate them by Sunday 14 October 2018. We will then invite the best to send us a recording of themselves reading aloud a story selected from a list provided by us by Tuesday 13 November. The recordings will be made available on the websites of Surrey Libraries (www.surreycc.gov.uk/libraries) and Brooklands Radio (www.brooklandsradio.co.uk) and the public will be invited to vote online for their favourite reading by Sunday 9 December.
The winner will be notified on Monday 10 December. The winner and the person who nominated them will each receive a £20 book voucher and the winner will be invited to Brooklands Radio in the week before Christmas to record a Christmas story, which will be broadcast on Christmas Eve.
