Feedback expected 30 Apr 2018

Overview

This survey is targeted at: parents, carers, foster carers, grandparents, and childminders who look after children who are aged between 0 – 16 years old.

We wish to gather your views about Children's Urgent Care services in Surrey.

We have recently developed a free healthcare app for parents, carers and Healthcare professionals involved in looking after Children called "HANDiApp" (more information below).

We are interested in hearing your views about where and how you seek Healthcare advice about your child when you are worried about their health, whether HANDiApp would be helpful to you, how you would use it and why.

NB: You can still complete this survey even if you haven't used HANDiApp.

Why your views matter

About the HANDiApp

The HANDi Paediatric App app has been designed in collaboration with St Peter's Hospital Paediatricians, GPs and national guidelines. It has been released across North West Surrey- local to St Peter's Hospital (Elmbridge/ Woking/ Runnymede/ Spelthorne and Surrey Heath areas). There are plans to roll it out to the rest of Surrey this year.

The App was created to provide Parents and Carers with an easy to use source of knowledge of common childhood illnesses, how to manage them at home and when to seek help "at the right time, in the right place".

It includes illness-specific home assessment for six common childhood illnesses:

·         Diarrhoea and vomiting

·         High temperature

·         Chesty baby (Bronchiolitis and Croup)

·         Chesty child (Wheeze and Asthma)

·         Abdominal pain

·         Common newborn problems

Each of the six illnesses has a home care plan including recognition of Sepsis that can be printed out to help parents and carers feel confident in caring for their children when they are unwell.

HANDiApp can be downloaded onto phone/ tablet for free by searching 'Handi app' or using the links below. It would be helpful if you could do this prior to the survey but this is not essential.

Android:   https://play.google.com/store/apps/detailsid=com.myoxygen.handi.taunton&hl=en_GB

Once you have downloaded the app, scroll down to bottom to find Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital and then it will take you to the correct section.
