Annual Primary School Travel Survey 2025

Closes 13 Apr 2025

Opened 3 Mar 2025

Overview

Welcome to the Annual Primary School Travel Survey 2025 - this is a yearly survey circulated amongst Surrey's primary schools with the aim of understanding how school pupils (infant and junior) travel to and from school.

As part of this year’s survey we’re also keen to understand parents/carers' thoughts about Surrey's air quality and so have added four optional questions about this topic.

Please fill in one survey per child in your household.

Depending on your answers, the survey should take no more than 5-8 minutes to complete. All responses are strictly confidential, and your data will be used in-line with our data protection policy which can be found here.

Why your views matter...

The Safer Travel Team at Surrey County Council are undertaking this survey to better understand school travel across Surrey. This helps us to set priorities around improving roads and footways around schools, and how we can encourage more walking, cycling, scooting, and parking and striding.

In recognition of your anticipated participation, for every 100 completed survey questionnaires, the Safer Travel Team will donate £25 to your choice of one of the following two local Surrey charities (donations are within an available budget and surveys are counted per child, not per household).

Momentum Children's Charity

Orchid Environmental Trust

At the end of this survey you will be able to nominate which charity your completed survey questionnaire counts towards, or for your nomination to be shared between the two charities. After the survey is closed, we’ll make the donations to each charity and - if requested at the end of this survey - will share with you a "mini-report" that details the survey’s results and charitable donations.

By participating you’ll be sharing your vitally important views and thoughts about school travel in the county and making a difference to local charities in Surrey.

Please note: the survey closes on Sunday 13th April 2025.
