The Sanctuary Experience of Young People in Surrey

Closed 26 Nov 2024

Opened 14 Nov 2024

Overview

Surrey County Council wants to hear from you to help understand the challenges you might face because of your immigration status or background. Your ideas are really important and will help us improve how we work with groups in health, education, and other areas to support people moving into Surrey.

We’d like to talk to young people who are:

  • seeking asylum

  • have refugee status

  • have arrived as part of a resettlement scheme (such as the (ARAP and ACRS) two Afghan resettlement schemes )

  •  been sponsored (such as under the Ukrainian Visa Schemes)

  • Someone who has relocated due to significant changes in political or legal conditions in their place of origin, impacting their freedoms and rights (such as the Hong Kong British Nationals scheme)

Why your views matter

Your feedback is very important! It will help us make better services and rules for everyone in Surrey. We want to use what you tell us to improve things for all children and young people who have moved here.

There will be one session online, which will be for 2 hours with a break, and will take place early evening. Once you have answered the question in this form confirming that you can attend the specific date and time, you will receive an invite with a link to join.

If you have any trouble with getting online or have equipment problems, we can help. Just let us know. As a thank you for attending the two hour session, you will receive £50 in Love 2 Shop vouchers which can be spent in a variety of shops online and in person.

Your answers will be kept private, and we’ll make sure everything stays confidential.

If you have questions, you can email research@surreycc.gov.uk. To show your interest, please fill out this form.

We will not contact you for any reason other than to assist you in participating in this session. For any similar sessions in the future, we will contact Big Leaf Foundation to find out who would like to potentially participate.
