The Sanctuary Experience in Surrey
Overview
Surrey County Council wants to hear from you to help understand the challenges you might face because of your immigration status or background. Your ideas are really important and will help us improve how we work with groups in health, education, and other areas to support people moving into Surrey.
We’d like to talk to people who are:
-
Someone seeking asylum
-
Someone with refugee status
-
Someone who has arrived as part of a resettlement scheme (such as the (ARAP and ACRS) two Afghan resettlement schemes )
-
Someone who has been sponsored (such as under the Ukrainian Visa Schemes)
-
Someone who has lived, worked, or contributed for years but experiences insecurity, discrimination, and hardship because of insecure or irregular immigration status
-
Someone who has relocated due to significant changes in political or legal conditions in their place of origin, impacting their freedoms and rights (such as the Hong Kong British Nationals scheme)
Why your views matter
Your feedback is very important! It will help us make better services and rules for everyone in Surrey. We want to use what you tell us to improve things for all people who have moved here.
We will have 1-hour online meetings on October 17th, 24th and November 7th. We know people have different schedules, so we’ll work with you to find the best times for everyone once we have the group set up.
If you have any trouble with getting online or have equipment problems, we can help. Just let us know. For joining all three meetings, you’ll get £25 for each one. Please only sign up if you can come to all three. We can also help with translations if you need them.
Your answers will be kept private, and we’ll make sure everything stays confidential.
