Alternative Learning Provision Consultation - Parents & Carers

Overview

Surrey County Council is redesigning its strategy for alternative learning provision.

Alternative learning provision is education outside school, arranged by local authorities or schools, for pupils who do not attend mainstream school for reasons such as exclusion, behaviour concerns, mental health, short or long term illness. Examples of alternative provision include Pupil Referral Units, the Alternative Learning Programme (ALP), Short Stay Schools, Access to Education (A2E) and Surrey Online School.  

This survey aims to capture the views of parents and carers on alternative provision. We are keen to hear from parents and carers whose children and young people have direct experience of alternative provision and those whose children and young people may have struggled at times to remain in mainstream education.
