Statutory Notices to open a new school by amalgamating Christ Church C of E Infant School and Englefield Green Infant School and Nurseries

Closed 23 Mar 2020

Opened 11 Mar 2020

Overview

Consultation Postponed as of 24th March 2020

On 11 March 2020, Surrey County Council and Guildford Diocesan Board of Education published linked proposals to close Christ Church CofE Infant School and Englefield Green Infant School and Nurseries and open a new Church of England voluntary aided infant school on the Englefield Green Infant School site.  The statutory representation period was due to close on 22 April 2020.

In light of the government guidelines to reduce the spread of Coronavirus and the implications for members of the public and statutory services, Surrey County Council and Guildford Diocesan Board of Education have taken the decision to pause the statutory notices representation period with immediate effect.

It is important that we give parents and other interested parties enough time to respond and consider the proposal.

Both organisations therefore will pause the current statutory consultation with effect from 24 March 2020, The consultation will not proceed to decision making by the Leader of the Council on 12 May and the reorganisation proposal will not be implemented on 1 September 2020.

We will keep this page updated once plans are made to re-open the public consultation.

Thank you for taking the time to attend public meetings and for your responses during the informal consultation period. Thank you also for the responses so far during this period of representation. Your responses will be reviewed and will be considered in future decision making.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact Jane Keenan at

As an alternative, please email any questions to our schoolorg@surreycc.gov.uk and we will respond accordingly
