Early Years Funding Proposal Consultation 2023/24

Closed 5 Oct 2022

Opened 13 Sep 2022

Overview

Surrey County Council are committed to engaging with the Early Years Sector and are keen to gain your views about the Early Years funding proposal for 2023/24. We would like you to answer the questions in this survey in relation to the delivery of Early Years Funded Entitlement in 2023/24. The full principle paper is attached below for your information.

Summary

In 2023/24 Surrey expects to budget to pass through 95% of DfE funding for 3-4 year olds to providers, with 5% of funding centrally retained, and to continue to pass through 100% of funding for 2 year olds to providers. DfE is currently consulting on proposals for changes in the early years national funding formula for 2023/24 although the current proposals do not suggest any major structural changes to the formula. We are also proposing to continue to use 5% of the funding for 3 and 4 year olds to fund centrally provided support services for the early years sector.
