This proposal will be submitted to the Lead Cabinet Member for Education and Learning for consideration to determine the statutory notices on 25 April 2023.
Overview
Surrey County Council, in conjunction with the Governing Body of Stepgates Community School, is proposing that the school expands its Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) designated SEN Unit by 8 places, from 21 places to 29 places in total, from September 2023.
All pupils placed by Surrey County Council in the SEN Unit will have a diagnosis of SLCN and will have an EHCP specifying the specialist provision within the school as an appropriate placement to meet their individual needs.
