Chalkpit Lane (A2003) Dorking - Proposed Provision of a Zebra Crossing and Traffic Calming Measures

Thank you for your interest in our Zebra Crossing and Traffic Calming Measure proposals on Chalk Pit Lane (A2003) Dorking.
The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.
The proposal:
SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL in exercise of their powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Section 90(A) to (I) of the Highways Act 1980, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Section 23(2)(A) of the said Act of 1984, propose to establish a zebra crossing with zigzag markings and introduce a pair of speed cushions to improve safety and reduce vehicle speeds on Chalkpit Lane (A2003) Dorking.
