Gatton Park Road, Redhill - Traffic Calming Proposals

Closed 15 Nov 2022

Opened 21 Oct 2022

Overview

Thank you for your interest in our Traffic Calming & Speed Limit proposals in Gatton Park Road, Redhill.

The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.

The proposal:

One of the road safety improvement schemes for the current financial year is the extension of the existing 30mph speed limit and implementation of traffic calming measures on a section of Gatton Park Road. It is expected that this scheme will be constructed by the end of March 2023.

Reigate and Banstead Local Committee approved this scheme to be progressed, within the current financial year, on 28 February 2022.

The scheme has been developed in response to longstanding concerns raised by both County Councillor Natalie Bramhall and local residents regarding vehicle speeds along A242 Gatton Park Road, Redhill. This is resulting in personal injury and damage only collisions with parked vehicles and walls/fences in front gardens.

The proposed speed limit reduction along this length is to encourage lower vehicle speeds on the approach to the proposed traffic calmed section of Gatton Park Road.

Please see attached plans showing the extent of the proposed traffic calming measures and the speed limit reduction.

If you would like to object, support, or comment on the proposal, please use the Online Survey linked at the bottom of the page, or alternatively, write to:
