Gatton Park Road Redhill - Traffic Calming

Closed 9 Feb 2023

Opened 8 Dec 2022

Overview

Thank you for your interest in our Traffic Calming proposals in Gatton Park Road, Redhill.

The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.

The proposal:

It is proposed to provide traffic calming features on A242 Gatton Park Road, Redhill between the junction with Colesmead Road and London Road South. The traffic calming features will include four tapered edge road tables, one full width road table and two speed cushions.

The scheme has been progressed in response to longstanding concerns raised by both the County Councillor and local residents regarding vehicle speeds along A242 Gatton Park Road, Redhill. This is resulting in personal injury and damage only collisions with parked vehicles and walls/fences in front gardens.

As a result of the Reigate and Banstead Local Committee held in February 2022, it was agreed to implement a series of traffic calming features along a section of Gatton Park Road, between Colesmead Road and London Road South.

The above proposal will be advertised in the local press (The Surrey Mirror). County and Borough Councillors, Parish Council and the Police will be consulted.

If you would like to object, support, or comment on the proposal, please use the Online Survey linked at the bottom of the page, or alternatively, write to:
