Guildford Virtual Parking Permits and Waiver Certificates
Overview
Thank you for your interest in our Virtual Parking Permits and Waiver Certificates proposals in Guildford.
Before agreeing the final arrangements for this scheme (in terms of what types of permit should remain paper or become virtual) we are considering comments and objections from the public.
The proposal:
The proposed amendment to the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) is required to allow many of the paper resident and visitor permits to be phased out. Instead, the Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) will become the unique identifier for an eligible vehicle within a permit scheme. This will reduce paper and provide a more convenient and faster service for residents and their visitors when applying for permits. However, in some cases it will still be necessary to issue a paper permit so this facility will remain in place.
Amendments to the said Orders are also proposed to reflect the transfer of enforcement to the County Council from the Borough Council.
