Proposed Highway Improvements Scheme - Weybridge
Overview
Thank you for your interest in our Highway Improvements Scheme proposals in Weybridge.
The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.
The proposal:
The proposed improvements scheme including the implementation of raised road tables, zebra crossings, parking restrictions, on road contraflow cycle lane and 20mph speed limit in Weybridge is to encourage lower vehicle speeds and reduce the severity of any collisions.
These features together with other measures form part of a wider improvement package that seeks to improve walking, cycling and bus travel facilities and de-cluttering of street furniture in Weybridge.
The scheme has been jointly promoted by Elmbridge Borough Council and Surrey County Council. It has the support of the elected local member and Surrey Police, and it complies with the updated Surrey County Council’s Setting local speed limits policy.
