Overview

Thank you for your interest in our Provision of a Traffic Calming proposals in Staines Road, Laleham.

The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.

The proposal:

Statement of Reasons

In the interests of road safety/vehicle speed reduction and in order to improve road safety for pedestrians walking and cycling (including children to/from nearby schools including Buckland Primary School), it is proposed to introduce a raised table in conjunction with a series of further highway improvement measures on the B376 Staines Road, Staines upon Thames, north of the roundabout junction with Worple Road.

At the Spelthorne Joint Committee meeting held on 23 March 2020, the Committee approved all three phases of this project relating to Buckland Primary School, including these improvements on Staines Road.
