Walton Road, West Molesey - Speed Limit Proposals

Overview

Thank you for your interest in our speed limit proposals on Walton Road, West Molesey.

The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.

The proposal:

As a result of the highway works described above, the existing 60mph speed limit on Walton Road and the associated Traffic Regulation Order will need to be lowered to 40mph for the majority of Walton Road and to 30 mph for the short section leading to the new pedestrian crossing on Walton Road to meet road safety requirements in terms of the crossing and to improve the safety of pedestrians walking along Walton Road. This Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented as soon as the works have been completed
