Prohibition of Heavy Goods Vehicles in Waverley and Guildford
Overview
Thank you for your interest in our prohibition of heavy goods vehicle proposals in Waverley and Guildford.
The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.
The proposal:
Surrey County Council received a request from the Parish Councils in the Eastern Villages division to implement an area wide 7.5 t weight restriction zone that would extend from the A283 Petworth Road the A3100 Portsmouth Road to the A281 Horsham Road. The council have also received numerous complaints from residents in Hascombe, Witley, Chiddingfold, Hambledon, Bramley and Dunsfold about damage to the highway and congestion being caused by heavy goods vehicles using the rural roads as a cut through to link between the A3, A283 and the A281 and also to Dunsfold Park which is situated to the north east of the proposed zone.
If you would like to object, support, or comment on the proposal, please use the Online Survey linked at the bottom of the page, or alternatively, write to:
