Balancing Surrey County Council’s Budget 2024/25 Survey

Closed 5 Jan 2024

Opened 28 Nov 2023

Overview

We would like to hear your views on our proposals to help balance the council’s budget. In February 2024, a full Council meeting will take place to set the budget for the 2024/25 financial year and plan for the next five years. We have a statutory duty to make sure that our budget is balanced, meaning what we spend cannot go above our income from council tax and other sources.

We have published our draft budget, including areas of increased investment and proposed efficiencies. This has been produced based on service specific knowledge, engagement with residents and stakeholders and is in line with recent resident survey and consultation responses.

To take part in this survey, it is strongly recommended that you read the information pack that accompanies this consultation - you can find this at the bottom of this webpage. This will give you the detail you need on our financial context, how the budget is spent currently and our proposals for investment and balancing the budget to help inform your response.

Information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence and in accordance with UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Any personal and sensitive information you provide will be used for equality monitoring to ensure everyone is being treated fairly.

Should you require this survey in an alternative format, please get in touch with Surrey County Council via email (contact.centre@surreycc.gov.uk) or phone 0345 600 9009. You can also contact us via text phone 18001 03456 009 009, text message on 07860 053 465 or through our Sign Language Video Relay Service.
