River Thames Scheme Supplementary Consultation - Scheme Design of the Spelthorne Channel at Ferris Meadow Lake

Closed 7 Oct 2024

Opened 3 Sep 2024

Overview

The River Thames Scheme is asking residents for feedback on the proposed design of the scheme's Spelthorne Channel at Ferris Meadow Lake.

The River Thames Scheme is designed to unlock the economic, health and environmental benefits of the river between Egham and Teddington. It will respond to the urgent challenges of flooding, reflecting the long history of flooding in this area. It will also provide access to green open spaces and sustainable travel routes; encourage inclusive economic growth and increase biodiversity. Each element of the River Thames Scheme will work together to deliver benefits for communities to help them live more sustainably.

During statutory consultation earlier this year (Jan-March 2024), seven options were presented for Ferris Meadow Lake with a high-level description of what each option entailed.  Since then, additional work has been carried out looking at the options in more detail as well as two further options suggested by respondents during statutory consultation. Now all the option appraisal work is complete, it is time to share our findings and seek your thoughts on this final presented option.

We are now consulting to seek feedback on how we can develop the Scheme design at Ferris Meadow Lake and on the Ferris Meadow Lake Options Appraisal Report.

To answer the following questions, please visit the River Thames Scheme supplementary consultation webpage, read our supplementary consultation brochure and other associated consultation materials including the Ferris Meadow Lake Options Appraisal Report.

These documents provide a detailed presentation of the appraisal of the options at Ferris Meadow Lake and our preferred option for the Spelthorne Channel where it passes through Ferris Meadow Lake.

While it would help us get a complete picture of your views if you answered all
the questions, you are not required to do so. Typically, the feedback form will
take less than 5 minutes to answer all the questions. You do have the ability to save your responses and return to it at your convenience.
