Surrey County Council is consulting people about the future of the six residential care homes that it runs for older people. These are:
We want to make sure Surrey residents have access to high quality care and support. The aim of both health and social care is to support people to remain as independent as possible in their own homes until later in life, with the support of family, friends and local community services. At the point that a person’s needs cannot be safely met at home, their needs are often more complex and may require nursing care rather than residential care. These six homes – built between 1970 and 1990 – are not designed to meet changing needs and new standards of accommodation. The homes are all currently under-utilised.
The aim of this consultation is to ensure anyone who could be affected by a change to these services can have their say before a decision is made about the future of the homes.
Please complete this survey to give us your views. All survey responses will be kept anonymous, but will be published in full as part of a report to the council’s Cabinet in February 2015. The report will inform a set of recommendations for Cabinet about the future of each home.
Below you’ll find some related documents, including a summary of the options the council has looked at and details about each of the homes. Please read these before completing the survey.
