Downs Way School Oxted

Closed 19 Oct 2015

Opened 21 Sep 2015

Overview

Surrey County Council and Downs Way School have been working together to look at the need for more primary school places in Oxted and how the school can best meet these changing needs in the future.

Our proposal is that Downs Way School changes from a one-and-a-half forms of entry infants' school to a two forms of entry infants' school. The school in its new form would be designed to serve children in the Oxted and Limpsfield area.

We are proposing that these changes start to take place from September 2016. As the school has taken an additional bulge year class in the 2015/16 academic year, the school will effectively reach its new capacity of 180 places in September 2017.  A programme of building works will expand the school with an additional building, to provide the requisite space.
