St Peter's Catholic School, Guildford
Overview
Surrey County Council and St Peter's Catholic School, Guildford, together with the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton, have been working together to look at the need for secondary school places in the Guildford area and how the school can help meet these changing needs in the future.
Our proposal is that St Peter's Catholic School expands from six forms of entry (6FE) at Year 7 to seven forms of entry (7FE) at Year 7. The school will expand incrementally year on year, as the higher intake of 210 pupils is taken on each year in Year 7. The total capacity of the school for ages 11 to 16 will be permanently increased from 900 to 1,050 pupils, reaching full capacity in September 2021. The school also has a 350 place sixth form, which together with the increased capacity in Years 7 to 11 will increase the total capacity for 11 to 18 year olds to 1,400.
We are proposing that these changes start to take place from September 2017 when seven forms of entry would be provided in Year 7.
Work is underway to identify what additional accommodation would be provided to enable the school to expand on its present site.
