There was a total of 10 responses and all 10 respondents agreed with the proposal.

The consensus amongst the respondents is that this would provide ‘much needed’ places within a localised setting. Six of these respondents also mentioned the inclusive nature and dedicated staff working at The Orchard Infant School, which benefits children with SLCN.

We will now proceed to issue Statutory Notices commencing the 11th January 2021 and ending 8th February 2021

Surrey County Council in liaison with The Orchard Infant School, is proposing to open a specialist Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND) centre for pupils with Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

All pupils admitted to the centre would have an EHCP specifying the school as an appropriate placement to meet their individual needs. It is proposed that the centre would have 6 places with 2 places per year group.

We held a Consultation from 2nd November - 14th December and a virtual public meeting on the 18th November.
