Commercial Road No Entry Proposals

Closed 11 Sep 2023

Opened 14 Aug 2023

Overview

Thank you for your interest in our proposal for a prohibition of entry ('no entry') for the junction of Commercial Road and Laleham Road.

This proposal is in response to concerns raised by members of the public regarding the congestion and safety issues arising on Commercial Road, specifically near the junction with Laleham Road, at peak times due to high levels of 'rat running'.

The proposal:

1) It is proposed to create a 'no entry' for cars into the western end of Commercial Road, from its junction with Laleham Road.

2) To extend the footway on the southern side of Commercial Road and include 2 bollards in the carriageway. This is to support the no entry signs by reducing the width and altering the angle of the carriageway at the junction to further discourage 2-way traffic.
