Hersham Road, Walton -On-Thames - Waiting Restrictions

Closed 7 Oct 2022

Opened 9 Sep 2022

Overview

Thank you for your interest in our waiting restrictions proposals in Hersham Road, Walton -On-Thames.

The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.

The proposal:

Revoke 45m of existing ‘Parking Every-day 8am-6pm 3hrs No Return 1hr’ on street parking bays along the west bound carriageway of Hersham Road, adjacent to property number 30 and replace with ‘No waiting at any time’ (double yellow lines). This will help maintain access, sight lines and road safety for pedestrians accessing the uncontrolled pedestrian crossing and pedestrian refuge island.

Revoke the existing School Keep Clear Road markings ‘No Stopping Mon-Fri 8.15am-9.15am and 2.30pm-4pm on the eastbound carriageway opposite 30 Hersham Road and replace with ‘No waiting at any time’ (double yellow lines). As Westward School has now closed, the School Keep Clear Road markings are no longer required. The double yellow lines will maintain access, sight line and road safety for pedestrians accessing the uncontrolled pedestrian crossing and pedestrian refuge island.

If you would like to object, support, or comment on the proposal, please use the Online Survey linked at the bottom of the page, or alternatively, write to:
