Overview

Thank you for your interest in our Parking Restrictions proposals in High Street, Walton-On-Thames & Beales Lane, Weybridge.

The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.

The proposal:

High Street, Walton-On-Thames - Statement of reasons for parking restrictions

Alteration to existing parking restrictions is proposed to provide sufficient visibility for proposed Zebra crossing.

Outside 30-34 High Street add ‘No loading at any time’ (double kerb marks) over 21 metres to existing ‘No waiting at any time’ (double yellow lines). Note, location is currently marked with a bus stop clearway.

Revoke existing ‘Goods vehicles loading only 8am-6pm’ outside 21-21a High Street and replace with ‘No waiting at any time’ (double yellow lines) over a distance of 7m. Note, location will be marked with Zig Zags upon installation of zebra crossing which will take precedence over any other restriction.

Revoke existing ‘Parking At Any Time Blue Badge Holders Only 3hrs No Return 1hr’ (1 bay) outside 27 High Street and replace with ‘Goods vehicles loading only 8am-6pm’ over a distance of 6.6m.

Revoke existing ‘Parking Every-day 8am-6pm 30mins No Return 1hr’ outside 50a-52a and replace with ‘Parking At Any Time Blue Badge Holders Only 3hrs No Return 1hr’ (parking bays) over a distance of 6.6m. Note. Additional disabled bay is proposed to compensate for the loss of the bay outside 27 High Street.

Prior to the first occupation of the development the developer must construct their vehicular access to the site with visibility splays, existing accesses from the site to Beales Lane shall be permanently closed and the footway fully reinstated and finally parking restrictions and infrastructure, including bollards and lowered kerbs for the refuse collection shall be installed.

There will be associated Section 278 Highways works on this site.

In accordance with the planning permission the developer is required to provide parking restrictions on Beales Lane. The extent of the proposed Double Yellow Lines is demonstrated on drawing SSD21056-000-100-001 Rev P2.
