Proposed speed limit reduction and toucan crossing- Water Lane, Farnham
Overview
Thank you for your interest in our speed limt and toucan crossing proposals on Water Lane, Farnham.
The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.
The proposal:
During the last financial year at the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) bidding cycle (07.03.23) a number of projects were approved for CIL allocation, one of which was the ‘Improvements to B3208 Water Lane Roundabout, Farnham’.
The scheme proposed for Water Lane, Farnham is to install a toucan crossing just before the roundabout at its junction with A325 Farnborough where there is an existing uncontrolled pedestrian crossing and to widen one of the carriageways to three lanes with clearer road markings to improve lane discipline and ease queuing traffic.
In order to facilitate this, the speed limit signs require moving closer to the roundabout so that they don’t interfere with the toucan crossing visibility.
