Warlingham 20mph Speed Limit and Parking Amendments Proposal

Closes 17 Oct 2024

Opened 19 Sep 2024

Overview

Thank you for your interest in our 20mph Speed Limit and Parking Amendments Proposal in Warlingham.

The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.

The proposal:

Speed surveys have been carried out around Warlingham Green in B269 Limpsfield Road and B269 The Green with the results of the speed surveys complying with the Surrey County Council policy for introducing a 20mph speed limit. The adjacent side roads of Glebe Road, Elm Road and Elm Close are no through roads that have been observed to be a low speed environment.

An existing 20mph speed limit exists in Farleigh Road. To encourage drivers to maintain a steady, low speed through the centre of the village it is proposed that the extents of the proposed limit ties in with the existing 20mph limit in Farleigh Road.

The Highway Operations & Commissioning Manager, under delegated authority, has agreed the progression of a 20mph speed limit in the roads proposed to be included within the 20mph speed limit extents. The proposal is supported by Surrey Police and local elected Members.
