Overview

Thank you for your interest in our Provision of a Prohibition of U-Turns proposals in Waterside Drive, Walton-On Thames.

The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.

The proposal:

Statement of Reasons for banning U-Turn movement in Waterside Drive

The banning of U-turns in Waterside Drive is proposed as part of the planning consent for the new secondary school Walton Heathside, Waterside Drive. Banning U-Turn manoeuvres in Waterside Drive is required to ensure the safety of all users in an environment where at School opening and closing times during the day it is likely that car drivers dropping children at school will want to turn in the road to the detriment of all other users.
