Knapp Road Ashford Waiting and Stopping Restrictions

Overview

Thank you for your interest in our Waiting and Stopping Restriction proposals in Knapp Road, Ashford. 

The legislation we must follow before introducing this scheme means that we need to allow objections and comments from the public to be considered before a final decision is reached about whether or not to go ahead with our preferred scheme in its current form.

The proposal:

1. a) Revoke the existing School Keep Clear Road markings ‘No Stopping Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm’ along the north bound and south bound carriage way of Knapp Road, adjacent to property, ‘School Lodge’ Knapp Road and 2 Village Way.

b) Revoke 36m existing Single Yellow Line parking restriction ‘No waiting Monday -Saturday 7am-7pm’ along the north bound carriageway of Knapp Road.

c) Revoke 40m existing Single Yellow Line Parking restriction ‘No Waiting Monday-Saturday 7am-7pm’ along the south bound carriageway of Knapp Road and Village Way.

The road safety improvements proposed for Knapp Road and Village Way will no longer require the School Keep Clear Markings and Single Yellow Lines.

2. Install 25.56m School Keep Clear Marking ‘No Stopping Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm along the south side corner of Village Way and Knapp Road by the Old Fire Station, as shown on drawing.

The new School Keep Clear markings will prevent vehicles parking and/or stopping and improve the safety outside the school.
